“Be as bold as your lipstick.”
I was first tempted to purchase this product when Belle Blush mentioned it on her blog. She seemed to enjoy the product the most from some of the other NYX liquid lip products. Me being the impulsive shopper that I am, purchased this the first shot I got.
“Doll up your lips in plush and vibrant color! Our Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick glides on and sets into a striking matte finish. Now available in 12 more velvety-soft shades, this waterproof lippie creates a positively polished look with every swipe.”
This product can be purchased directly from NYX for $7. They can also be purchased at most drugstores. For my fellow South Africans, Clicks does stock NYX products.
4 ml of product comes enclosed in an expensive looking tube. The colour can be seen through the tube.
Throughout the day:
I applied the shade 04 Soft Spoken and here are my thoughts:
The lipstick applies quite easily and evenly. There is no patchiness or streakiness- which is always a good sign. The lipstick doesn’t dry down 100% which can be both a good and bad thing. The good thing is that it isn’t as drying as most liquid lipsticks are. The bad thing is that it isn’t totally transfer-proof.
The liquid lipstick is extremely comfortable to wear. It doesn’t feel thick or heavy at all. In fact, it almost feels like you’re wearing nothing at all!
The colour selection is beautiful. The NYX Liquid Suede Collection has a colour for everything- from the brightest neon to the simplest nude.
The price tag is pretty great too. Paying just $7 or R150, you get a pretty decent lipstick.
The one downside is the fact that it isn’t entirely transfer-proof. This means that the lipstick will wear off quite easily and reapplication is a must. I find that the lipstick rubs off when eating and drinking- which is a bummer.
On the whole, I definitely did enjoy using the NYX Liquid Suede Lipsticks. They definitely are great lipsticks to use and I would repurchase them gladly.
