Skincare on a budget | Beauty & Lifestyle

“Love the skin you’re in.”

Let’s be real. We all have tight budgets and sometimes we just can’t afford to have the best beauty treatments available on the market. That shouldn’t stop you from having great skin. Today, I’ll be sharing my favourite skincare products that are super inexpensive and that won’t put a dent in your pocket.

1. Cettua Sheet Masks
Probably one of the most inexpensive sheet masks on the market, these by Cettua are great if you’re on a budget. They cost under R35 per sheet mask (a total bargain if you ask me) and come in a huge variety to suit any skincare issue. The quality of these sheet masks is great too- I’ve never had a single issue with them. I purchase these from Clicks.

2. Skin Republic Skin Masks

Another brand that sells amazing skin masks is Skin Republic. I absolutely love their sheet masks range. There are so many to choose from and they retail from R40 at Dischem.

3. Garnier Micellar Water
For me, healthy skin is not possible without clean skin. Removing makeup, excess oil and dirt at the end of the day is crucial and makeup wipes are just not enough. I adore micellar waters because they really get into the skin and clear out all the grime and gunk. This one by Garnier is super affordable- costing just under R70 for a 400ml bottle. A little of this goes a long way- I’ve had my bottle for over 3 months and it’s still halfway full!

4. Swiitch Beauty Steam Cleanse

Steaming has been proven to be extremely effective in maintaining good skin. It opens up the pores and softens the layer of dead skin we have- which is proven to prevent breakouts. Swiitch Beauty has these amazing Steam cleanses for just R45. I get about 3-4 uses out of each tub, which means I’m paying just over R10 per treatment. Talk about worth it!

5. Facial Cleansing Pad (silicone)

Cleansing the face is a great way to get rid of products that have built up in the skin. Using a good facial cleansing pad will really get deep into the pores and ensure all the dirt is out. I recommend using this 2-3 times a week with your cleanser. If you don’t have a cleanser, simply massage this around your face to get rid of dirt. There are many stores that stock cheap facial cleansing pads. I purchased mine at a Forever 21 overseas. Clicks and Dischem do stock these at very reasonable prices.

There you have it! 5 great skincare products that are really affordable and great if you’re on a budget!
