Natural, no makeup looks have to be some of my favourites to create. I’m usually a really simple makeup kind of girl, and I believe that a simple look is just as gorgeous as a glam look. Today, I’ll share with you some of my favourite tips and products to create a natural, barely-there makeup look, perfect for university, a trip to the grocery store and even for traveling. Enjoy!
Primer: Whether you’re going in full glam or not, primer is a must. Choose a primer based on your skin- a hydrating primer for dry skin, a pore-refining primer for textured skin or a matte primer for oily skin. I’ve been loving the Kiki Beauty Primer- it’s quickly become a staple in my makeup routine.
BB Cream: When going for a no-makeup look, you want to keep your base as lightweight as possible. Apply a BB or CC cream or tinted moisturiser. Alternatively, use a very sheer coverage foundation. One of my all-time favourites minimal coverage foundations is the Mac Face and Body.
Concealer: If you’d like, you can skip out on this step. If you really need some help with the dark circles, apply a small amount of liquid oncealer and blend it in with your fingers or beauty blender. Set with a powder so it doesn’t crease. My all-time favourite Concealer is the La Girl Pro Conceal.
Bronzer: This is definitely not a must, but if you really really can’t live without it, apply some Bronzer loosely over the outer areas of your face. Avoid contouring since this can look harsh. I enjoy the NYX Matte Bronzer in Deep Tan.
Highlighter: This is another step you really don’t have to include. If you must, use a cream or liquid highlighter and blend it into the skin with a beauty blender. This looks extremely natural. Some of my favourites are by Colourpop.
Mascara: Try to avoid false lashes, since they are the total opposite of natural. If you’d like, apply a light coat of mascara to help open the eyes. This is a step I tend to skip.
Eyeshadow: Since the look is meant to be natural, don’t overdo the eyeshadow. Take some of your bronzer and apply it lightly to the crease to add dimension.
Lips: You want to keep your lips as natural as possible, so stick to a nude toned lip colour. Alternatively, just add some clear gloss to your lips and you’re sorted. One of my favourite nude lip colours is Kiss the Dust by NYX.
